Everything you ever wanted to know about Electronic Cigarettes

Electronic cigarettes were invented in 1995 and have only been widely used for a few years. This is one of those things on which you have to make your own decision. However, many people regard the decision to inhale a cool mist with just a few ingredients, none of which are known to be toxic , or alternatively inhale something on fire filled with thousands of ingredients is, what is popularly termed, a no-brainer - which is why ecigarettes are taking the world by storm. Browse around my site, ask questions, leave a comment and help me to help you to become an informed consumer. We are adults, and as such, we can make informed decisions to use nicotine or not. The question is, how should we use nicotine? I say it is a win-win!! There is no second-hand smoke, mostly water vapor comes out of them. Many of the problems related to smoking are because of the risks associated with second-hand smoke! Be informed. Make informed decisions! Happy Vaping!!

Using E-cigs as an alternative to Smoking

For all users it would probably be an excellent policy to reduce the nicotine strength of the refill liquid over time. The difficult period is probably going to be the first three months, when some stronger liquid may be needed. After that, a good plan might be to reduce the strength down to the next level, every couple of months. When 12mg or 1.2% is reached there is probably no need for most people to go further unless they want to.
Electronic cigarettes were invented in 1995 and have only been widely used for a few years. This is one of those things on which you have to make your own decision, since if someone were to state otherwise - either pro or con - they might face action by parties with opposing views since there is absolutely no proof either way. But think of it like this: would you rather inhale a bonfire of burning leaves and paper, with over 5,200 proven dangerous ingredients; or inhale a mist with no combustion products like tar, and with only half-dozen or so ingredients that are all licensed as safe for human consumption as they are in many foodstuffs, medical inhalers and even injections?

What is an "e-cig"??

Ecigarettes are a modern way to supply nicotine, and an alternative to smoking. They can also be used without nicotine. The refill liquids usually contain between five to ten constituents that are all licensed for human consumption and considered safe, as opposed to the 5,300-plus identified substances found in the latest research into cigarette smoke, many of which are known to be toxic or carcinogenic. Nicotine, in itself, is NOT carcinogenic. Electronic cigarettes are rechargeable battery powered personal vaporizers (PVs) , often in the form of a cigarette. They contain either flavored nicotine liquid or flavored cartomizers with predetermined amount of nicotine. The refill is called e-liquid. The nicotine strength is measured in "mg/ml" or, milligrams per milliliter. A typical cigarette has about 1mg of nicotine so an 18mg "cartomizer" is equal to approximately a pack of cigarettes. A milliliter is a liquid measurement. There are approximately 5 milliliters(mls) in a teaspoon. The first electronic cigarettes were 3 parts: the battery, the atomizer and the cartridge. The battery heats up the atomizer which turns the liquid nicotine into "steam". There is NO COMBUSTION! The "newer" e-cigs are only 2 parts, the battery and a "cartomizer"; the atomizer and cartridge have been combined for ease of use. The cartomizers are "disposable" and the batteries are re-chargeable.
